Community Guidelines

Aligned is built for people who are serious about finding someone. That only works if the people here are real, honest, and decent to each other. These guidelines describe what we expect, and what happens when someone falls short.

They apply everywhere on Aligned: your profile, your photos, your prompts, your messages, your date invitations, and what you teach your AI. Breaking them can cost you features or your account.

• Use your own recent photos, with your face clearly visible in at least one. No photos that are mostly someone else, and no pictures of celebrities, cartoons or stock imagery as your main photo.
• Use your real first name and your real age. You must be 18 or over.
• One account per person. Don't run duplicates or come back with a new account after being removed.
• Don't impersonate anyone, real or invented.
• Get verified if you can. It takes a minute and it makes the whole community safer.

Aligned asks direct questions because vagueness wastes everyone's time. Answer them honestly — including the uncomfortable ones about children, religion, money and where you want to live. You are allowed to want what you want. You are not allowed to misrepresent it.

The same goes for what you teach your AI. It speaks to other people on your behalf, so anything you tell it should be true.

Nobody on Aligned owes you a reply, a date, or a second conversation. Not being interested is not a slight.

• No harassment, threats, intimidation or stalking — on Aligned or anywhere else you follow someone to.
• No hate speech or slurs, and no attacks on anyone's race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, age, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
• No unsolicited sexual content. Don't send explicit photos or messages to someone who hasn't asked for them.
• No pressuring anyone into meeting, into anything physical, or into moving off Aligned before they're comfortable.
• Don't share someone else's private information, photos or conversations. What happens in a chat stays there.

These result in immediate and permanent removal, and we report them to the authorities where the law requires it:

• Anyone under 18 on the service, and any sexual content involving minors.
• Content that promotes or depicts sexual violence, exploitation, or human trafficking.
• Threats of violence, or content that glorifies or incites it.
• Terrorist or violent extremist content.
• Selling or soliciting sex or sexual services.
• Content encouraging self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating.

• No asking for money, gifts, crypto, or financial help. This is the single most common scam pattern in online dating.
• No investment tips, trading groups, or 'opportunities'. If a match steers the conversation toward money, report them.
• No promoting a business, service, event, cause or other platform.
• No recruiting for jobs, sales schemes or multi-level marketing.
• No bots, scripts, scrapers or automated messaging.

Aligned will never ask you for money outside of the App Store or Google Play. Anyone who does is not us.

Other people talk to your AI before they talk to you, and what it says reflects on you. Don't train it to deceive people about who you are or what you're looking for.

Equally, don't misuse anyone else's. Don't try to manipulate it into revealing things its owner has kept private, and don't use it to harvest data or to build a competing product. Conversations with someone's AI are for getting to know them, not for extracting them.

When you get to a date, use your judgement. Meet somewhere public the first time, tell someone where you're going, arrange your own transport, and leave whenever you want to. Our Safety Centre covers this properly.

You can report any profile or message from the menu on that profile or chat. Reports are confidential — the person you report is not told who reported them.

Blocking someone is immediate and mutual: you disappear from each other's discovery and neither of you can message the other.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then tell us at safety@aligned.app.

Depending on what happened and whether it's a pattern, we may remove the content, warn you, require re-verification, limit your account, or remove you permanently. Serious breaches skip straight to removal.

Moderation combines automated checks with human review. Automated systems screen profile photos; people review reports. If you think we've got it wrong, reply to the notice you received and a person will look at it again.
